Bill organizing at it approaches LA

#1 Postby Anonymous » Mon Jun 30, 2003 6:54 am

Beautiful outflow pattern now developing in the southern quadrant. Convection seems to be becoming better established as well. Don't be surprised if the recon finds sustained winds of 55 knots or higher. Whatever the case, intensity status wise, this is going to be CLOSE. TWW and I have been, and will continue doing updates every few hours on our site.

I think it will make landfall as a strong TS just to our east. We should see some strong winds and heavy rains this afternoon, I'll try and keep everyone updated.

Morning all...my first chance to get on here. How are all of my friends to my east doing?

You can definitely see the center on radar:

The center is elongating E-W which means we will see no furhter strengthening, which is good. Recon was recording a closed off center earlier, but it appears to have opened up again on the radar. IMO, it appears to me that the center of circulation will track just W of NO around the Luling/Destrehan area which will keep those in the NO area under water for most of the day as the flooding rains continue!!

Everyone in the LA, MS, AL, NW FL area hunker down a little and watch out for flooding. Looks like rain totals could easily top 15" in some areas E of landfall. Above all STAY SAFE and report in as you can.

My cousin is in Destrehan. She is reporting significant wind with heavy rain. She is right off River Road in the Ormond Subdivision, which usually floods. I am sure Airline is under water too.
