Which direction around Jamaica will Ernesto go?

As most of us know, it is VERY rare for the center of a storm to pass directly over Jamaica. Usually it seems they 'dance' around it to the south.

Just thought i would get this topic going since I know its going to come up, and Ernesto will effect Jamaica and (Jamaica effect Ernesto's track ?? possibly) before it gets to anyone else.

Ideas????

I think it will go south. Seems like most storms have gone south of Jamaica in recent years.

I recently visited Negril and Montego Bay, Negril being on the SW coast. I know those poor folks wish it would bonce any way but their way!!

Just a thought...

Perhaps we could import Jamaican soil and sprinkle it all along our coastlines. That way we'd get to see the monster hurricanes come right up the coast and then veer away harmlessly at the last moment. Just a thought.

I say it will go south of Jamaica and be a strong tropical storm or weak hurricane by then

Jamaica does not cause any bouncing

Ivan turned at the last minute ebcause it ran into a ridge of high pressure, that steered it just south of Cayman

Charley "bounced" due to a bad center location given in an advisory

Lili's center reformed in high shear

Over Kingston-this is just as likely as eric's dancing "denny terrio"hurricane. actually KC from kc and the sunshine band is from erics hometown(im not kidding about this since I work in that town) so maybe he is into disco canes.

Why isn't there a poll for this? I say make a poll instead of people just replying "South" and "North". Get a mod to do it if the topic creator wishes too.

This poll could have these choices:

I think right over Jamaica.
