also to go along with that...if you cant tell which header is which...please read this:
if you look in the header it says WXWXA...that is the training flight

97L Header:
SXXX50 KNHC 241807
AF303 01GGA INVEST HDOB 20 KNHC
1759. 1207N 06153W 00303 5024 203 021 234 224 022 00290 0000000000

Now here is the training flight header:
283
SXXX50 KNHC 241806
AF304 WXWXA 06082415304 HDOB 14 KNHC
1758. 2620N 08031W 07314 0469 226 008 173 237 009 07809 0000000000

The header of the training mission in the GOM is=WXWXA.So look up first at header and you will know which is the 97L plane.

no...all it is is a training mission...they have to train the new flyboys somehow...and that is by getting into the air and actually flying...
EDIT: and to keep touching up on their skills ;)

About 10-15 minutes ago, they had the minobs from the AF304 up on the storm2k recon page (wasn't that the plane that was training in the GOM earlier?). Anyway, I'm pretty sure it showed coordinates in the 18N 67W range, which puts it near Puerto Rico. I don't remember if it had the WXWXA header or whatever the training indicator is (and I don't know where to look to get these reports other than the storm2k page). Is that where the training flight was based from, or do you think they are forward deploying a second plane? Can anyone confirm those minob coordinates?
