. . . the CPAC TWO is longer than the Atlantic and EPAC combined.

Shows you how slow things really are over here, or at least how busy it is over there.

FOR THE CENTRAL NORTH PACIFIC...BETWEEN 140W AND 180
The Central Pacific Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane Ioke, located approximately 110 miles west-northwest of Johnston island, or 890 miles west-southwest of Honolulu. Ioke was moving northwest near 7 mph. See public advisories under AWIPS header TCPCP2 or WMO header WTPA32 PHFO for additional information.
A weak disturbance is located near 15.7N 148.3W, or about 510 miles southeast of Hilo and was moving toward the west northwest around 12 mph. Although convection has recently flared just north of the center, a recent quickscat pass does not show a closed circulation but rather a sharp elongated trough extending from the area of convection southwest to near 10N 153W. If the convection persists through the day, there is a chance a tropical depression may form, however the enviornment is not all that favorable. Ssts are marginal and the disturbance is moving toward an area of much stronger westerly shear.
Another weak disturbance is located near 10.8N 157.5W, or about 650 miles south-southwest of Hilo and moving west around 10 mph. Earlier convection near the center has diminished. The area will be watched, but development is not expected.
The remnants of former eastern Pacific Hurricane Hector are located about 875 miles northeast of Hilo. The remnants were moving toward the west-northwest near 15 mph. Redevelopment is not expected due to low ssts and strong upper level winds.
Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through early Friday morning.
