NHC being very generous to Chris...

Based on recon data I have monitored all night and this travesty of justice below, I say they are being very nice to Chris!

This is not a tropical storm...Nothing in the recon had over 30 knots flight level winds...The 53 was just a thunderstorm which has been blown to heck. This is a 25 knot depression tops.

I'm not saying this won't refire because the circulation is still strong, and recon is not having any trouble closing off an LLC. I'm just saying it is a Depression right now, and a weak one at that!

This is not an official forecast, and should not be used as such. This is just my opinion of what is going on. ( I don't no where to find the disclaimer).

Latest reports from an Air Force Recon Aircraft, Surface Observations, Satellite Imagery, and good old common sense, Tropical Storm Chris is probably a Tropical Depression. :lol:

...but I think nhc gives chris an extra 10-15mph added bonus for effort.

The nhc must have their plot thingy's wrong. because everytime I look Chris is N of his position yet there track doesn't change.

Good morning. I think since Storm2k goes around the clock nobody notices the time of the day, furthermore, in the case of P.K. is already midday!!!

it's midday for me too... good lunch P.K.

i think NHC is generous with Chris because they believe it still can (re)strenghtens and it is not that far from land...

Or they are possibly doing what some of talked about last year. There is a conflict of interest with these long term seasonal forecasts. It is human nature to support your brethren. Chris is a joke and it has been for the past 12- 24 hours and it could strengthen to a CAT 5 but that would not be the point here.

Beat me to it guys ! I was just about to mention that Chris is a tropical depression at this point. They are being way to generous.

"OVERALL THE AIRCRAFT HAS ONLY MEASURED 30 TO 35
KT WINDS AT FLIGHT LEVEL." So below 35 knots is not TS status.
