Questions for Derek Ortt

#1 Postby StormScanWx » Fri Jul 28, 2006 4:22 pm

Mr. Ortt,

I understand that you are the 'director' of the NWHHC. I have a few questions about your website.

-In your forecast graphics, has there ever/will there ever be a cone for the forecasts in addition to the Best Track?

-Does the NWHHC use the same basin guidelines as the NHC and others? (ex. does the Eastern Pacific end at 140 degrees?)

-Is the NWHHC considered an official source of information?

SSW :)

my e-mail address is available on this site

Personal questions should be sent to that and not asked in an open forum

Its not a personal question, perhaps you've heard it before, but there is no NW hemisphere. A small quibble I know.

I obtained my Bachelors degree in Meteorology and Applied Mathematics in May 2005, and am now working on my Masters. I also do some work for the Pensacola News Journal, providing hurricane information (which most here, I assume have seen)
