Old weather maps
Does anyone know where I can find old weather maps that show things like the surface map on "X" day of "X" year? I am sure they are out there but I am just too lazy to search myself.

How far back do you want to go? Here are surface maps that date back to 2002: http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/dailywxmap/

This is probably the best link: http://vortex.plymouth.edu/u-make.html
The archive goes back to mid-1998 and has about as many ways to customize the data as you can think of.
Another site that goes back a little farther - to 1996: http://weather.unisys.com/archive/sfc_map
These are surface maps for 0Z and 12Z daily. "0001" means January 2000.
