Awesome Wilma Loop
I just found this awesome animated GIF loop of Wilma at peak intensity.

It's a fairly large file so be prepared. However it really shows just how cold those cloud tops got.

this may be a stupid question but was Wilma at her strongest at the beginning of the loop? The cloud tops had some blacks and whites <!> in them at the beginning then warmed up during the day. She maintained the pinhole eye the whole time but was she strongest when the blacks and whites were present? Again excuse the newb!

Wilma was amazing! I still am amazed at her. The speed by which she became so powerful and her pressure so low, and then how big her eye evolved into. Both the east and west coasts of Florida under the eye at the same time! Sheesh. Actually, all three of last year's big storms--Katrina, Rita and Wilma--were amazing in their own different ways. One thing they all had in common was the speed by which they catapulted to Category 5 status, literally in an afternoon.
