any of you like tracking storms on the computer?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

I downloaded Tracking the Eye for my computer. This edition looks cool..

do you like tracking storms over the comp.? or do you rather track them in a tracking chart you get out of 1 of the hurricane survival guides?

I like doing it both ways

While I have done both methods, there are enough maps online that I really don't mess with tracking anymore. Online I can stil see the trendlines. I will use a tracking chart of the present location then plot where I think the future track will be.

I utilize Tracking the Eye at home and Hurrivac at work. I also like plotting my own isobars it gives me a better feel for the storm and it's direction.

How does everyone like Tracking the Eye? How does it run on XP? Their website reviews and faq are from the 1990's! Makes me a little nervous... But the screen shots look great. Would love any comment from users here!! :cheesy:

I love Tracking The Eye. Have used it since it first came out in the late 1990s. Nothing quite like inputting the data and watching it draw that little line, and then animating it. I love hands on tracking!

Back in High School I produced detailed cartographic charts with pressure (MBR/Inches of Mercury) and wind speed (Knots and MPH) Tables. These charts cover the walls of one of my rooms. I laminated my charts and used erasable color markers to track tropical systems, but my time is limited so computer software is all that I use nowadays.
