yeah...that's mainly for university/research purposes

not really suited for the common user. for the common user, a simple storm2k track map, the weather.com program, or the others out there will suffice.

But hey, if you're willing to shell out the money, no one can stop you

I know George Sambatero well (PC Weather Products). Just saw him a few weeks ago at the NHC in Orlando. He's always had very nice graphics. His customers are emergency management people, utility companies, etc.

You're right, it's not "budget software".

wxman57, maybe you could ask if they intend to offer a version for amateurs like us. I'd pay $99 for something like that.

We use it at work and yes it's incredible but not for the "average" user. I'm not sure if it's legal to utilize images from it for non-subscribers but if it is I'd be happy to post them throughout the season. Personally though since I'm an informed tracker but not a decision maker (this software is for those that have to think about decisions that affect people's lives) what I have is all I want.

Hurrtrack is the industry standard. You will find it used at every EOC in hurricane areas.

Nothing like it, but prohibitive for the individual.

My favorite is Tracking the Eye, they have upgraded their software every year. At no additional cost. Their yearly on line tracking fees are less than one tenth of hurrtrack.

You and all of Florida.
I didn't leave here in NE Florida. Roads were already too nasty. Luckliy it recurved before hitting us, but I was left cutting trees up to get out of my driveway....

I owned hurrtrak several years back when an individual could purchase it. I believe I bought it around '92 and paid $50.00 for it. I loved it.

I'm getting a raise in July (hopefully! Cross Fingers!) SO MAYBE then.

Hurrtrak Online is well within my affordability range per year-------but the required software is sadly not. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....
