I don't completely agree Brunota. One reason for using Northern Hemisphere as affected area is that there are many articles based on research by scientists that talk of England, Europe, and North America's climate cooling were the changes in salinity to happen and slow down the conveyor belt. In one article I have read they do say they are not sure to what degree the weather would cool but that it would cool none the less. Because there have been significant changes in the strength of the conveyor belt they have a system of buoys that strictly track the strength of it. The following links have interesting info.
