More than that all the Basins around the world are quiet at this time.
The forum for sure will be hopping not as you said f5 but once an invest pops up in the Atlantic. And then you will see the usual thread=# invest, comments, sat pics, models thread and the forum will be very active.

I'm glad you said that because it reminds me of last year when people made post during June saying:HURRICANE SEASON CANCELLED, THERE ARE NO MORE STORMS SO NONE WILL FORM AT ALL. Then came Katrina, Rita, and Wilma.

In fact of the 3 years this forum has been up this off-season has been the most active as posting has been plenty.

I was just thinking that. Everybody, including myself, was writing this season off in early August. Then out of nowhere...it all broke loose

Didnt we have so many people on when Katrina became a 5 that the server crashed?

2005 was a memorable season. I wasn't on the board that long to remember but it is hard to imagine thinking the season would be over in early August after all that deep tropical hurricane activity in July. Those types of June/July systems are known to precede active hurricane seasons (Dr. Gray's old NSD before 1 Aug in the deep tropics)... ANYTIME you get systems forming from tropical waves in the early season e of 75w in the deep tropics.. it is almost a guarantee of an active year.

I was in that bandwagon.

It seems that you've been lurking in these forums for quite a long time.

Yes, it's been over a year now. The shear in the Atlantic basin got really bad after Dennis....and it was nearly the end of August and so MANY of us (not all of course) thought it was over.
But how quickly things change

As cycloneye said, once those invests start to pop up we can look foward to the 20 pages of:
"I think there is a little convective burst to the far Sw of the center which may push it upto TD status!"
Hehehe, don't we love it, i wonder if we will break the record that Wilma set???
