or...since we wanna talk about damage...every hurricane is the storm of the century in its own way...for me it is Isabel, for the sat presentation, it was my first hurricane ever, it cut a new inlet into the outer banks, and that it literly went right over my house...did Katrina do that here? no...so to ME...Katrina was basically a political arguement machine that did a bunch of damage and killed a bunch of people...for every person, they have a different opinion...and it depends on what they got hit by...'nuff said...remember it only takes one to change someones life/outlook on life...just because they dont agree with you on their choice doesnt mean that they are wrong or evil...

How is it that you choose to concentrate on a levee system and about 500 square miles and disregard the other 85,500 square miles of the Gulf coastal regions that were significantly impacted by Katrina - in many cases to a sizable degree greater than what happened in New Orleans??

what amazes me is people still wanna argue about it...you want something done, tell the press to stop focusing only on NO...then maybe people will hear about the other places...I havent heard a peep from Gulfport/Waveland since Mark was there about 5 months ago...and if I didnt pay attetention to the news much after the cane, and tuned in a couple weeks ago, all I would think was that only NO was hit to...no offense...

Yes, Andrew was one of the few Cat 5 landfalls in the last century.

Katrina was political mess with a hurricane problem. It's really all self-explanatory.
Military bases, residential homes, commerical businesses are still in the process of rebuilding... this will take several years to come.

there must be something wrong with that map? It has Andrew as a Cat. 4 at landfall. It also says in the lower left hand corner that the map was made in 2005, so this could not have been pre-uprgrade. weird.
