That collection of clouds seems to have been milling around out there for a couple of days now, didn't think it would last for very long. Interesting at this time of year, though.

The EPAC concentrates in its season, May 15 - Nov. 30. They very rarely go outside their boundaries unlike the Atlantic. There has only been one December storm, Hurricane Winnie in 1992, and there is no record of tropical systems from January to April of any other year. I don't think that anything will happen with this area of convection.

If anything I could see this getting sucked into the flow that's dumping all that rain on CA.

Ivanhater it looks like it has some spin to it. If this does develop which I highly doubt it wouldn't suprise me.Has their ever been any tropical systems in the E Pacific from Jan to April.

The spin is in the mid levels not the surface,But it would be nice.

First off, there's way too much shear in the area and secondly, it could never be pulled into CA as it's too far east and the flow over CA is bombastic from the West.
