don't get me wrong.. i'm not gloating at all. even a cat 32 storm hitting clearwater would be pretty devastating for this area!
wasn't the 1921 storm just a strong cat 2 or weak 3? -and it "created" John's Pass. wow
i feel lucky to be able to appreciate this view for another year is all i gotta say. i hate to think how everything would be gone if a storm hit here. as much as i love it, i couldn't stay if it all got wiped out. since i just rent (refuse to buy along the coast because of hurricanes) I would relocate for good upon a major evacuation.. probably to somewhere with mountains.
