Fridays outlook from JB about Caribbean

#1 Postby DESTRUCTION5 » Fri Oct 14, 2005 11:22 am

2.) Florida hurricane threat next week. The system should develop out of overall pattern in the western Caribbean early to mid part of next week, then it will get pulled into the southeast Gulf.

I'm taking Accuweather's forecast very seriously, and so should anyone
who lives along the Eastern Gulf Coast, Florida Panhandle,
Florida Peninsula, and South Florida.

Since the mods have repeatedly asked that the bashing not continue, I'd suggest that's a bad idea.

At any rate, both the Euro and the UKMET (which appear to me to have the best grasp of the current and near-term situation) suggest development in the western Caribbean next week. Should something form in that region, a subsequent NE track across the peninsula is the climatologically favored track.

(The Canadian jumps all over the low near Jamaica - developing it way too fast IMHO)

Where at in Florida? He says the SEeastern Gulf, but is he talking about the Panhandle, or the West Coast?

I think he means anywhere from the Panhandle through the
West Coast and to South Florida.

Joe is usually pretty good with forecasting long-range patterns...
he may not get landfall locations exactly, but his pattern
analysis is excellent.

I would say tonight that he's got a reasonable chance of being correct. Climatology favors it and something is DEFINTELY developing down there.

He is solid on teleconnections and seeing potential threat areas ahead of time.
