GFS shows a monster ridge over the atlantic with 2-3 strong waves underneath headed in the Direction of FL....Sure its Depicting waves but it won't take much to get one or 2 of them rolling this time of year...

The waves will ride that ridge like a convaor belt all the way up to the bahamas, or close to it.

well it doesnt look good for florida in this case. if that ridge stays in place whatever is moving east, doesnt have much of a chance of turning to the north

I must say the global models' forecast of that sprawling ridge heading into October is pretty amazing. But, like I am sure most of you realize, nothing this season would be surprising.

That ridge like the strong easterlies is by far not strong enough to prevent a storm of 1000mb or less pressure from turning wnw, and eventually recurve. The position of the ridge may suggest that it could 'conveyor' all these storms to the east coast, but if any of them develop prior 60-65 west in that scenario they would recurve. It takes a ridge with much stronger amplitude to steer them. Especially in the atlantic in a year of constant troughs weakening the atlantic ridges.
