Clint you said it....nothing else to say.

May I add Alicia?

The Fort Worth NWS office blew off the GFS runs saying the westerlies would pick up the storm. However, both the 0z and 6z runs show the same scenario. Why does the news always seem to get worse about Rita?!

The GFS is the main American computer guidance used by NWS forecasters. It is widely criticized by some here and lauded by others. Long and short? I dunno ... sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Thanks a lot Portastorm, still trying to get to grips with models used in North America. Here's hoping it's wrong this time.

Oh here we go with the imaginary blizzards at 384 hours...

Lol I wish we were just forecasting blizzards right now  .

Me too... I wish it would just cool off and rain. This "Sunny and Hot" forecast for the last 3 weeks is getting VERY VERY old.

Yep. It was 96 degrees here today. Ridiculous! Glad I was able to stay inside.

"Sunny and Hot " for the last 3 weeks? Try for the last 4 months. NE La has been a skillet with the humidy since May :sprinkler:
