This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

I just got power a couple hours ago . Thank God for A/C! As for me and my family, we are all fine. A little damage to roof and water damage in sons room but it all can be fixed. Hopefully Northrop Grumman Ship Systems will be in operation next week so I can go back to work.

Power out for 5 days from a cat 1

#23 Postby jimvb » Sat Sep 03, 2005 6:53 pm

Many people in the Richmond, VA area had power out for 10 days after a tropical storm, near Cat 1 strength, hit. This was Isabel in 2003. I lost power for 21 hours in that storm.

Got mine back in 3 days, too. I have honestly never seen a group of people work so hard as the guys did to clear a block's worth of fallen trees and powerlines out in front of my house. 8 cherrypickers and probably 50 guys from Alabama, Miss and Indiana attacked the mess after 1030 AM, were done by 730 PM and the juice was on at 11 PM! These guys are probably up on the Gulf Coast now, cleaning up a much bigger mess. Whoever you are, a shoutout to you!
