I know this may not be important at this time...

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

I know this may not be important at this time...

I was watching Katerina coverage on the BBC tonight, and I got real angry about the so called 'expert' they brought on after the storm footage. Basically, it was an American who was pushing the idea of global warming and adherance to Kyoto was necessary to reverse the 'damage' we've done to cause these killer storms.

I just wanted to reach through the TV and strangle him. Why do they never ask mets about global warming? Because any met I've ever heard talks about cycles of severe and calm weather. I hate how this tragedy will now be used to push an agenda.

Never trust BBC! I don't like it for one, can't stand the accents... and two, they never have an unfolding story correct. Well, maybe they do, but I don't stick around often to check it out. Trust CNN, CBC is a little far out too. The thing I love about CNN is the graphics, and how the reporters are always talking. CBC, its a basic white bar, off white colours, and those annoying reporters who especially during breaking news stories have long pauses where you hear nothing. During the plane crash at Toronto, a pause lasted a good two minutes. The silence in the news just doesn't go well. Trust CNN, or if Satelite, then Fox too.

are you kidding me? CNN, Fox, and MSNBC are all jokes. Instead of actual journalism, the have great graphics.....all of the so-called breaking news they have been reporting on the storm's aftermath is consistently 3-4 hours late versus other information outlets such as this board and local news reports.

They always blame any weather event on global warming, even if there is no proof. Global warming may be having an effect but that is no reason to blame every little storm over here on it (Such as some flooding we had in Boscastle last year).

Have to say on non-weather related stories over here they are usually very good.

The accents are fine, lol. What you need to remember is they don't have all these reporters over there like the US stations do. As far as I've seen they have someone as Baton Rouge (Might be spelt wrong) and that is the only one.
