Gulf Shores, Again...

"Police Chief Arthur Bourne said the water was as high as it was during Hurricane Ivan a year ago, meaning it could be days before homeowners get in to assess damage and begin cleaning up."

A testament to how LARGE this storm was to cause massive surge all the way in AL.

flooding as far as Escambia Bay in Pensacola/Pace

The local radio has reported that Highway 90 between Pensacola and Pace to the east has water running over it. This is about the only way to go from pace to Pensacola since I-10 is partially disabled.


Power has been out here since 6:15am CST. Using my trusty generator thanks to Ivan. :grrr:

Channel 5 had a reporter doing a live shot from Foley, and as he was on camera, a huge caravan of Alabama state troopers went past him heading south towards Gulf Shores/Orange Beach.
