NE 50mph + since midnite, Gusts to 85.
That has got to be building water on the SW side of the lake and when the winds switch to north and NW, Nola better watch out.
Pray that the levies hold.

Great link. And the eye is still about 4 .5 hours from closest approach to NO and the eye has been going directly north for almost seven hours now. If it keeps going that way the western eye wall will clip the city centre. It’s 145 mph sustained right now and most of the eye is still over water and flat terrain. It's far too early for people to hype some conclusion upon effects. Just wait and see (which will probably be on Tuesday morning).
