you just don't ignore the pressure ...

you also dont ignore countless numbers of wind measurements taken over multiple passes.

I agree as well...

I am still googling like crazy to find a cat 4 with 910 mb... either the pressure will rise soon or the winds will increase

Just woke up to see Kat has weakened some. Good news, well maybe yes. Maybe some big buildings will be saved. Unfortunately those buildings are not what the average people live in and call home. She is still a huge extreamly stong hurricane that is going to rip away many peoples lives not only in NO but in the other cities, towns and small communities that are on the east side of her. 145 or 165 mph is really not going to matter much to the average working Joe who worked thier posteiror off to get what they have. From what I have experienced those big buildings that get damaged from these storms always seem to get back up fairly quickly, and its the average working Joe who is stuggling a year or two later to get some kind of life back. Yes it may mean some will still have a job cause the big building didn't get destroyed. Sadly though, they won't have a home to live in.

I guess when it is all over *maybe* (and I still say maybe because until she hits we can't ever be sure) we can be a little thankfull Kat didn't come in as that enormous storm that they were gonna write the books about, but she is still gonna cause a huge impact on many many people. Heck she has already done that. Step back in time just a short time ago and look what she did to Florida... and she was just a Cat. 1

looks like the instruments of C-Man Southwest Pass are damaged.

Last report was from 05z...75 knots sustained, gust 88 knots.
