Questions running through peoples minds....

#1 Postby crazycajuncane » Sun Aug 28, 2005 12:40 am

I was just wondering... if they issue a mandatory evacuation.... who has to stay?

How do they get everyone out of the hospitals? Do they keep all hospitals open? Even the ones in flood prone areas?

Who would want the mayors job right now?

EMS workers would bunker down until given an all clear.

Hospitals/hotels may be exempt. Hospitals may go on bypass or have a triage system once storm is clear.

Flood prone areas will likely be evacuated.

I feel for the Mayor of NO. It's a lose-lose situation whatever the call is.

Mayor Nagan stated on the WWL interview that he will hopefully have a
clause exempting hospitals and hotels for the evacuation. The goal
is to get residents out.

The question running through my mind right now is how can I sign off this board, turn off The Weather Channel, and try to get some sleep?!
More on topic: I wouldn't want to be in their shoes right now. They have to send their families away and hunker down with the folks who refuse to leave. It is indeed a thankless job.
