Quite a few TVS showed up around the eyewall during Katrina's approach to the SFL coast.

TVS = Tornado Vortex Signature

Means that radar picked up rapidly twisting winds

"Tornadic Vortex Signature" In a normal T-Storm situation, a TVS is a "radar indicated tornado".
