Tornado,UK

tornado hit Birmingham this afternoon,has caused a fair amount of damage,several million was the last I've heard.
Most tornadoes in the u.k are weak,however this one was certainly amongst the strong Tornadoes of the last 10 years.

windspeeds estimated to have been upto 130Mph,although that has not been confirmed,lifted some roofs of houses and snaped some pretty major oaks by the looks of things.

another fairly strong tornado occured(for the country) in Peterbrough,once again snapping a fiar few trees,don't think it was as strong as the other one though(been 2 other uncofirmed tornadoes as well so far)

Some amazing footage from an ITN cameraman who was filming some sort of even in a park when the tornado passed right by them. Just been shown on ITV news. Also a few mobile phone camera videos of roofs being ripped off houses. Pretty intense stuff for the UK

Hope no body was seriously hurt, but in a city the size of Birmingham, it's a miracle no one has been reported killed.

The tornado lasted only for a matter of seconds.

Early images suggest that the tornado was probably a T4,or a F2.This is a very powerful event for the U.K and is pretty rare here.

This is amazing. Its not everyday the UK experiences a tornado. It looks like some of the damage was pretty significant so its a good thing the tornado didn't last long.

We average 33 tornadoes a year, which makes us have the most per land area in the world. 8-)

As well as this one another two were reported earlier.

Apparently, there will be some pretty cool CCTV footage start appearing tomorrow of the tornado(es). It has to have been captured on loads of CCTV cameras seen as the UK has about 4 million of them
