Adelaide swelters in October heat

#1 Postby senorpepr » Wed Oct 13, 2004 8:25 am

Adelaide has had its hottest October day in 17 years.
The Australian Weather Bureau says the temperature reached 37.4 degrees Celsius, the hottest day at this time of the year since 1987.

The highest maximum temperature in South Australia today was 43 degrees at Port Augusta.
South Australian farmers are worried the hot burst could reduce cereal crop yields by up to half in some areas.
