Our rain chances are high for the next several days. NWS LCH mentions that they considered a Flood Watch, but decided against it, thinking this would be a localized event, rather than a widespread event.

We're really soaked already and the radar is firing up early today.

WESTERN LOUISIANA. HOWEVER...THE EXACT AREAS OF GREATEST RISK WILL
DEPEND LARGELY UPON SMALL SCALE SURFACE BOUNDARIES...WHICH WILL
SERVE NOT ONLY AS POINTS OF STORM INITIATION...BUT COULD ALSO
PROMOTE THE TRAINING OF STORMS OVER THE SAME AREA.

I don't believe this day! All the rain headed toward the Bear Creek Dome has been either destroyed, or formed just to my East. Only a sprinkle or two so far with lots of thunder all around. The Dome is winning so far...

wow! What a storm that was that just rolled through here! Torrential rains, amazing CG lightning and frequent 40-50mph wind gusts (enough to knock down a few small pine tree limbs). It seemed to come out of nowhere too. I wasn't expecting anything that intense today..that's for sure.

Yeah, the radar sure lit up all at once along the 59 and I-45 corridors. Of course, it's all East of me. :-)

We got a gull washer here that last about 15 minutes. It looks like that will be it for the day. I was expecting rain for most of the day....guess not.

Where are you at Johnny? There's more developing from Victoria and other points between there and Houston; also out in the Hill Country. That fat lady hasn't sung her last aria yet. Hope springs eternal!

It hasn't been too bad here yet. We've had intermittent thunder and rain but so far nothing as severe as what we've seen in the past couple of weeks. I don't mind the thunder and rain but that lightening gets to me.

Flood watch= watching it flood somewhere other than your area....

Same here Yank! Look to out SW though - storms just got their act together in Ft. Bend county headed our way. Will the Dome win again? ;-)

I just noticed that jen... Who knows if it will hold together... I do see big black clouds to my west... but I saw them this morning too and got nothing out of them.... I think I am going to wash the car... that usually does the trick!!!

Foiled again! Yankee - did you get anything yet? Look at the blasted radar: it fell apart in the face of the Dome, and this time the remainder went to the west!

Here we go again. Barely 1/4" last night, and rain all around the Bear Creek Dome but nothing underneath it. Yankee, I think your definition of Flood Watch will apply to us again today. :lol:

I am setting at .42" for the day and more development to my SW this morning. We several heavy showers move across N Galveston County earlier.

The grounds are saturated here as well.

Ok, I found this to be a little funny. This is from their Forecast Discussion last night:
