First Thunderstorms of the season

One at 8:40, another at 10:15. Both lasted less then 10 minutes.
The first had a distant, but fantastic lightning show, multiple cloud to ground bolts at the same time.

Every once in a while, we had one pop out of thin air last summer, started as a sprinkle just west of philly, by the time it got to me, it had warnings up for it, I got pics somewhere.

That didnt exactly come out of nowhere. That was over a timespan of an hour. Also, there was a cell in the area of the first frame.

The first one formed the same way. That day was quite favorable, they were popping up all over the place, and late into the night.
But rarely do they literally come out of nowhere, usually they form like those.

Hubby emailed me earlier saying that it was booming (around 10:15PM)I'm in work, no windows and can't hear anything outside, hate missing a good storm

It's nothing big, just the occasional flash and rumble.

LIGHTNING WILL MOVE ACROSS EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA AND THAT PART OF
NEW JERSEY GENERALLY SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80 AND NEAR AND NORTH OF
INTERSTATE 195 THROUGH 130 AM EDT. THE STORMS ALSO WILL GENERATE
BRIEF BUT HEAVY DOWNPOURS THAT MAY CAUSE SOME POOR-DRAINAGE
FLOODING.

Its almost "popcorn t-storm" season in the South. I noticed the clouds building this morning and thought we might get a shower or two, despite the rain-free forecast. We got one.

Ive seen the seabreeze fronts in cloud form float over in the last couple weeks just about 2-3X a week. Thinking about the rain.

Looked to be trying to rain yesterday, but just couldn't manage it. Saw building thunderheads and grey skies one hour, checked one hour later, they were gone and no rain had fallen.
