Any cities reached 100 degrees or higher lately?

Here the highes it has gotten is 101!!!!

The hottest it's been here in North Ga or at least at my location 40 miles northeast of Atlanta has only been 88°. We've had like 2' of rain since May 1st contributing to our cooler highs. The record for the latest occurance of 90° is July 28th and i might actually have a shot at breaking it!!

Lincoln, Ne has hit 105.3 on July 17, and on July 20, a high heat index of 114.8.

Not here in Huntington Beach ... the highest we have EVER hit since I have lived here has been 95.

Well...we were at a cool 108 today...down from 113 yesterday. Here in Phoenix, we average 89 days above 100 every year...so we shouldn't count in your question.

I did hear that thus far this month, it has been the hottest first half of July on record with an average high of 111.

The egg still won't fry on the pavement, though.

In this area west of Atlanta, Georgia....it hasn't even reached 90° yet. I've seen 89° on two different days....that's as high as it's been...

It's been so wet (33" inches of rain at my location since May 1st), the humidity just won't allow the temps to soar....but dewpoints are unusually high...running in the lower-middle 70's (normal for Atlanta in July is upper 60's); so the highs of 88-89° have felt more like 93-95°--- whew!!

Atlanta "officially" saw one 90° day...at Hartsfield Int'l (ATL) on July 8th (was 89° here)....so we still haven't broken 90° yet...and I'm not sure when we will (I remember in 1994, the highest all summer here was 90° --on 4 different days.

It can get much hotter. In July 1980, I saw 104° here twice, and in both 1999 and 2000 it reached 102° at this location.

We have had either one or two official 100º days here in Houston so far this summer. IF you thrust the AWS wewather sites though we have had several 100º+ days with a high of 106º at one site. Our high here at the house today was 97.9º and our HI was 105º to 110º. As you know TS we are coming into the hottest part of our summer here in Houston, so I am not looking forward to it.

The hottest it has officially been here in Lafayette this year was 93 degrees which we hit two days ago. I can remember many Julys where for weeks it was in the mid/upper 90's every day unless it rained. It's still really hot out there but we've been lucky so far.

The highest it's been in Charleston was 95º on July 9th ... the western extension of the Bermuda High on that day produced strong subsidence and compressional warming which didn't allow clouds to develop. I reached 97º, with a max heat index of 111º on that day ... otherwise, it's been primarily around 90º, give or take a few degrees either way, and after today's (this morning's) thunderstorms, another month of above average rainfall ...

The last few years during the 4 year drought, CHS and this area have seen a couple of days in the 100º range ... the hottest was back on August 1st, 1999 ... 105º at the airport, 106.9º here and several locations in Eastern SC (Hartsville in NE SC reached 108º)...driven by a strong W to WSW flow ..

100??????? What is that??? Better yet i do have somewhat of a idea of what a 90 day is seeing how i have had ONE of them so far this year! Either way i am not complaining after last summers endless heatwave! You guys can keep it..................

Here in the NYC area we hit the 90s thats it. NO 100 degree days so far.

Ok... This is strange... We actually have had showers all day. First nonstop heat for a couple months now it is 71 and wet, there was only a 40% of t-storms.

I am so confused... There are all these gray fluffy things leaking water on us...

It very rarely reaches 100+ degrees here in central Florida. It got close either last year or the year before.

I have experienced 100ºF to 102ºF a few times in eastern Massachusetts, behind cold fronts, drier, hot air due to west winds blowing downslope from the Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts.


Ronnie, a 40% coverage of showers and thunderstorms actually leads to a good chance of rain for a forecast area.

Yep, Tom ... same goes for Coastal SC, but the Midlands (particularly Columbia seems to be a hot spot and generally reaches 100º a few times a year).

I think Florida's record highest temperature is held in Monticello, FL with 109º ... South Carolina is 111º on several occasions ...

I never got to 100 this year. But I have gotten to 98 ( our highest ). About 3-5 times having 90 degree heat this year. We are heading into our driest period of the year. And it aint dry at all. Already .99 inches of rain in 2 days. Thunderstorms till Monday.
