See Colin's topic - we're much further north than you, but it seems that the East Coast was pretty well lit up last night! :o

The storm Chad experienced last night I could see to across my eastern sky. There were also some impressive strikes to my south (in and around the Clermont, Florida area; west of Orlando).

Some of the cloud-to-cloud lightning strikes were "spidery" and there wasn't much thunder.

Interestingly, a thunderstorm around 3:30 PM Eastern was about miles to my west, I could see the dark cloud in the western sky. The storm moved north into the Ocala, Florida area and then into northern Volusia... during the three hour period from late afternoon to early evening... the storm too an abrupt turn to the south and southwest toward, but I don't be into Orlando into the Deland and Deltona between 8:00 and 9:30 PM Eastern.
