What is causing the '06 Monsoon season to be the biggest nonsoon bust that I can remember? Since it's infancy 28 June through 30 June I received a decent .67" and since 1 July, a TRACE....normally I should be nearing 3" (2.87")

If you remember from my outlook (which I can't reference the location of here), I stated that my biggest fear would be that the dry air from the drought stricken areas to our south and east would be a possible factor in the effectiveness of the monsoon. The dry air would turn otherwise favorable patterns into crap except in areas generally west of us in SV (and especially west of the Santa Ritas) where low level moisture surges from the Sea of Cortés would come into play. Sadly, this is what has happened as you and I are getting aced out with piddles from patterns that should dump on us while places like Tucson and Pima and Pinal Counties are getting nailed every night.

				Yup.....now I remember

like that old country song of years gone by (like the old monsoon) "She got the gold mine, I got the shaft!" It's bizzare, there are parts of the world that would KILL for a dry spell, I'd walk 5 miles in the desert near Gila Bend, butt naked, in the middle of July (116° down there I've heard) just to SEE or SMELL rain
