				The record was set in 1913 as he stated. Ironically, the temperature in January 1913 dropped to 15F which was the record low for Death Valley. That 134F would stand as the Worlds record until the 136F set in Libya 9 years later. Officially, the highest readngs since 1913 in DV have hit 129F though unofficial readings in the low 130's have been recorded.
