I just posted in the severe weather thread that it was raining here too. It was just a speck on the radar, and it only lasted a couple of minutes though, but it was rain! It kind of startled me at first....I thought the sky was falling!

Well most of the thunderstorm activity is north of us now, but hopefully we can get a storm later. It would be great to get a good soaking today and tomorrow to start making a dent in our drought.
edit: Just noticed an outflow boundary on satellite and radar moving south located just south of Alexandria now. This is from the cluster of storms from last night over Arkansas. This SHOULD be enough to trigger more development in our area later this afternoon. We shall see.

The north half of Lafayette Parish is getting soaked right now. Let's see if this line settles into the city. Good news is alot of areas are getting some much needed rain right now and there's more to come tomorrow.

I was at the ballpark, all games cancelled for tonight. The fields are flooded. It came down hard on the southside of town. Some nice lightning and thunder too. I think I may have had some hail on the way home....it was raining but something was "pinging" on my car that didn't sound like a regular raindrop.

I hopefully this is the beginning of the end of your dry spell.
TWC showed a nice line of showers and storms along Louisiana, down by NO.
