... I'm not there, you understand. And this weather statement expired at 4:00 p.m. But I just looked at the radar and it looks like southwest Houston is still under a lot of clouds and rain. It looks like the storm system is just barely moving.
Also, they say these storms are moving southeast, but does anyone else notice that it looks like some of the cells are actually moving NORTHeast?
Harris County in southeast Texas
Until 400 PM CDT
At 210 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy
rainfall falling over portions of Harris County due to a slow
moving band of thunderstorms moving east at 10 mph. Radar and surface
observations indicate that isolated amounts of two and a half inches of
rain have fallen across southwest and northern portions of the county.
The heaviest rain has fallen in the Sharpstown area and between Aldine and Spring in the vicinity of I-45. Street flooding has been reported in Sharpstown. Additional shower and thunderstorm development is expected to continue this afternoon. Therefore... an additional 2 to 3 inches of rain is possible in isolated locations.

Underpasses... feeder roads and other low spots may
flood. Do not cross any location where water covers the road!
Please report flooding to the county sheriff...
local police... or department of public safety. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service.
