COLLEYVILLE, Texas -- Lightning may be to blame for three early morning house fires near each other in Colleyville.
The first blaze began around 4:30 a.m. Friday in the bedroom of a home in the 1900 block of Renfro Road. The second fire started about 20 minutes later in the 6200 block of Kenshire Drive, causing an estimated $600,000 damage to a two-story house. Shortly after that, a third fire began in the 5000 block of Shadowood Trail.
A firefighter was injured and taken to a hospital by ambulance when the roof of the house collapsed. Officials say he was able to leave the house on foot.
No other injuries were reported.
Lightning sparked a house fire in the 900 block of Lucas Street in Grapevine Friday morning.
The homeowners weren't home, but neighbors saw the roof burning around 5:30 a.m. and called for help. Relatives of the family showed up to salvage what they could.
Damage to the home is estimated at $125,000.
