This was taken on a 35mm camera
I didnt think it was possible to catch a lightning bolt on a regular camera is this a fluke or is it actully plausible?

Just from a quick search around the net, I can't find where it shouldn't be possible to photograph lightning with a 35mm.

Some lightning flashes are multiple flashes and last longer then some others. So I would imagine it would be possible to capture them with 35mm.

If I had my first lightning shot scanned into the PC, I would share it with you all...but I don't. It was taken at night using 35mm film, and to this day, I think it is my best lightning picture I have every taken. I just got lucky taking the shot.
