#1 Postby ColdFront77 » Fri May 30, 2003 10:39 pm

The following is the Hazardous Weather Outlook (Days 2 through 7) issued at 6:30am Eastern, Friday and the official forecast from the National Weather Service in Taunton, Massachusetts issued at 10:11pm Eastern for northern Plymouth County for Overnight, Friday-Saturday through Sunday night:

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...

HEAVY RAIN IS POSSIBLE LATE SATURDAY INTO EARLY SUNDAY. WIDESPREAD 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN IS LIKELY ACROSS MUCH OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING...WITH POCKETS OF AROUND 3 INCHES POSSIBLE. STREET FLOODING AND SIGNIFICANT RISES IN SMALL STREAMS MAY OCCUR. RAINFALL APPROACHING 3 INCHES IN 12 HOURS COULD INITIATE SMALL STREAM FLOODING.

IN ADDITION...EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE LATE SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT. A FEW OF THOSE THUNDERSTORMS MAY BE STRONG AND PRODUCE HAIL AND WIND GUSTS OVER 50 MPH.

.SPOTTER CALL TO ACTION STATEMENT...

SKYWARN ACTIVATION IS NOT ANTICIPATED AT THIS TIME TODAY. SKYWARN ACTIVATION MAY NEED TO BE CONSIDERED LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON OR NIGHT IF NEW DATA SUGGEST THAT SOME OF THE THUNDERSTORMS WILL APPROACH SEVERE. SPOTTERS MAY ALSO BE ASKED TO MONITOR STREAM LEVELS SATURDAY NIGHT AND/OR SUNDAY MORNING...IF THE HEAVY RAIN MATERIALIZES.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overnight. Becoming mostly cloudy with areas of fog. Lows in the mid 50s. Light west winds.

Saturday. Cloudy. A chance of rain late in the morning. Then a rain likely with a chance of thunderstorms during the afternoon. Highs near 70. Light and variable winds becoming south 10 to 15 mph late in the morning. Chance of rain 60 percent.

Saturday night. Rain with a chance of thunderstorms. Rain may be heavy at times after midnight. Lows in the mid 50s. South winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

Sunday. Rain. Cooler with highs in the lower 60s. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

Sunday night. Mostly cloudy. A chance of rain until midnight. Windy. Lows in the lower 50s. Chance of rain 40 percent.

The jet stream is going to lift northward after the developing low pressure system, currently located over the Great Lakes moves out to sea causing temperatures to rise... bringing a welcome change to New England and the Northeast.
