THE HEAT IS ON IN HOUSTON!!!!

#1 Postby vbhoutex » Thu May 29, 2003 8:06 pm

COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TURN IT OFF??? :x :x :x

The official high today in Houston(on the N side of town at the airport)was 94º, but many areas of the metro area experienced triple digits, running from 100º-103º!!! The forecast high for tomorrow is 99º!!!   It feels like someone changed the calendar to August!! To top if off we will close out the month with 0.01" of rain for the month unless a miracle occurrs in the next two days!!! We are now over 8" behind for the year!

Yep, it's hot!!

It's so hot out there that my potatoes cooked underground. For lunch, all we had to do was pull a few out and add butter, salt and pepper. :o

AND GETTING HOTTER!!!

The high today at the weatherbug site nearest me was 102ºf and the high at my house was 99.2ºf. This is late July or August weather for this area and we are just getting ready to go into June! Unfortunately we are in a pattern that is not going to change anytime soon so we can expect more of the same.
We will close out the month with an official thimble full of raing for May. I'm not sure what the official amount which is measured at the airport will be, but the last I heard was .1". The weatherbug site has had .01" this month and we have had the same here at the house. Can you say SKY HIGH WATER BILL?

For now that's it from sizzlin' dave!! :D

Whew, it pays to live closer to the water. We "only" got to the low 90's!

We had a cool down today!! It only hit 101º at the weatherbug site and 96º at the airport(which was 97º yesterday). Here at the house we managed 99.2º today. Clouds? What are clouds? Bright blue sky is all I see with a giant yellow orb hanging in it!! Current is 95º with a 47% rh and a dp of 73º. The HI is 104º which is down from the 107º I saw earlier.

And the heat goes on!!! da, da,da,da,da........ Actually I heard one of our ocm's say we may be back in the 80's Thurs with 30-40% rain chances. That I will believe when I see it!!

Oh!! We are closing out the month with an official thimble full of rain here at the house, and .01" at the weatherbug site. I haven't heard aobut the official at the airport yet, but I think it is less than 0.50"!!! We already have one city in the Metro area restricting lawn watering.

We're on lawn watering schedules in Lafayette and the "water police" have been handing out citations this week. There's only 3 days a week that we can water
