it's very chilly!! :jacket:

If we don't set a record low tonight, it's going to be very close. The record low for May 1st is 47° and it's already 49° here. I'm usually swimming by this time of year!! I tried about a week ago on a warm day and the pool was still too cold. I froze my tooties off! It was so windy Saturday and with the cooler temps, I had to wear a jacket part of the day.

It's just so weird for this time of year. Image

...RECORD DAILY MINIMUM TEMPERATURE TIED AT THE VICTORIA REGIONAL

A COMBINATION OF COOL AND DRY AIR...LIGHT SURFACE WINDS AND
CLOUD-FREE SKIES ALLOWED THE TEMPERATURE AT VICTORIA TO FALL TO
RECORD LEVELS. AT 702 AM CDT THE TEMPERATURE AT THE VICTORIA
REGIONAL AIRPORT WAS 45 DEGREES. THIS TIES THE PREVIOUS DAILY RECORD
MINIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 45 DEGREES SET ON THIS DATE IN 1925.

Thanks Justin. I thought it was possible but darn it, we only tied the record. lol
It was 45° at my house but I guess a tad warmer where they take the official temperature.

It doesn't feel like May.

Yeah, too bad Southerngale.

When it is that cold down in Texas this time of year, you might as well make it memorable and break some records: tying records just doesn't cut it sometimes.

You know that the electricity bills are going to be outrageous very soon, so I really enjoy this cool weather! I turn off my A/C and keep the windows open...

Forget that! I'm freakin miserable with this weather. I'm ready for August. Bring on the heat and humidity!

At least you're saving on the A/C bill while you can Yankeegirl and everyone. Enjoy it while you can too. 45-50 for a low in Southeast Texas in early May is definitely very unusual. Hopefully it doesn't snow down there either in May or we got a real problem don't we.

Is that a joke? This weather is AWESOME! I can't remember the last time we had a REAL spring and this one has just been great. Don't worry, in only a few weeks it will be in the 90's all summer so I'm enjoying it while I can.

No joke at all. I'm not happy unless it's at least 85. Can't get far enough south any more.

We turned our A/C off on Sunday too :) Of course, because of all the pollen, I don't normally open windows, but it was nice :D

At last we didn't get the 4"-5" of snow they got in the Panhandle!!!

'shana

thats not too unusual

it may be record cold, but barely.houstonians are much more used too cold weather and winter weather than the eastern part of the gulf coast like people who live in the florida panhandle at the same latitude. 40s would be a big deal for the florida panhandle but not too big of a deal for people living in houston. yall arent too far away from a chilly day.. 400 miles north in the southern plains in North texas around Dallas its may 4th, and highs are in the low to mid 50s with rain on the way and a stiff wind blowing.... but Texas and all the plains okla and kansas are warming up tomorrow. most of the country will return to boring mid-spring weather soon.. oh boy... cant wait........... 60s and 70s and 8os everyday............

Yeah... it was cold here too. Saturday we only managed the mid 60's(actually we stayed there all day) with it dark outside(storms early) and tomorrow the forecast is for light rain and only Mid 60's if we're fortunate. YUCK!!!

Just got a peak at the 7 day forecast... next Wednesday: Partly Sunny and 85!!!
