Summer?

#1 Postby weather girl » Thu Apr 21, 2005 2:52 pm

Hi. I'm new to this forum, live in western Oregon and am more of a weather hobbiest than anything. You guys clearly have had more training than me. I'm slightly intimidated.

What do you see for the PNW summer? I've been looking at some old temperature data, and I don't think it's going to be as warm as the last two summers have been. So far this spring, the pattern seems to be setting up differently as well. I was recently reading on an eastern US weather board that they seem to think the heat will be somewhat in the east but more in the southern middle. I could handle that.

Thank you so much for your insights.

If you want to know more than you EVER wanted to know about the weather in the Pacific Northwest... check out our thread. Its always near the top of the list - "Pacific Northwest Weather".

Lots of lively... but ultimately friendly... debates.

My prediction for summer in the PNW... cooler and wetter than average. August might be hot though.

Welcome aboard, Weather girl.

My http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=60537 at this point is that the Pacific Northwest will likely see both temperatures and precipitation run near normal during the overall June-August period.

I am in the process of making my summer, fall, and winter predictions. I should have them done by early next week, and will post them on here at that time. My preliminary findings are that summer in the Pacific NW will be near normal in temperature, for June - August.
