Rain rain and more rain

#1 Postby tomboudreau » Thu May 22, 2003 8:03 am

Looks like the northeast is setting up for a prolonged period of rain this weekend into next week. So far for the month, I have recorded over 4 inches of rain at my house and will probably add another inch or so with this feature coming in. I wish I could send some of this rain down to the people that need it greatly. We were in a drought last year...but since late fall through the winter and now into the spring...we have made that deficit up very fast and are now probably exceeding it. This wet weather will not however deter my plans of having a cook out! I will not be defeated :D

Naww. We won't flood. We're in the middle of a hill and we watch the rain waters rush down the hill when it pours. The side walk is so badly broken up, that it looks like it has mini little waterfalls flowing down it when it really pours. If anything good is going to come out of all this rain, is the fact I wont have to water the garden for a few days. We got it put in on Monday and Tuesday night we got over 1" of rain. I just hope all this rain doesnt rot the roots of the plants.

LOL Josh, My meanie cloud (she is quite sweet when you get to know her, that is just her on a bad day!) ;)

Hope we do get some good rain out of this, been overcast all day, so I think the heating has been somewhat limited and should keep the storms relatively on the low side of severe.

Bron, I think we may be in for a lot of rainfall with the thunderstorms that are on their way with this slow moving cold front.

It is currently expected to take about thirty hours for this cold front to move across the state... a portion of the front just made it into the Florida panhandle.

I'll take the rain over the snow anytime. Especially after this winter in the northeast. By the way tom, there are a few people here in CT that want to get that groundhog of yours up there in PA!
