Rain Deficit for your area?

As of today - the deficit in Houston are was close to 7 inches behind normal rainfall from last year. Got humongous cracks in the ground. My water bill is going to sky high with the everyday watering of the garden.

Yep, Ticka that water bill is definitely on its way to the moon! Fortunately I don't have a garden to water, just grass and shrubs. Still, it is gonna hurt next time I have to pay! We may have a better chance of rain Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning when the next front comes through. another thing to watch for will be whether any cut-off lows form on our end of the front as it is expected to make it well out into the GOM. Not predicting, maybe -removed-?

Right now I would wishcast for a very small tropical wave to position itself over TX/LA and give us a good soaking.

We can wish can't we?

Actually... even with the tremendous 4.5" rains of last week, we are still about 2.3" below normal for the year. Not as bad as Texas, but we could use a nice gentle soaker.

We are around 11 inches below normal in Lafayette for the year! Having had a good soaking since the beginning of April. They just lowered our rain chances for tuesday and wednesday to 30% and after that it will be dry through the weekend. This is really getting bad!

There is something falling from the sky here right now. Someone said it is called rain. :lol:

We are having an afternoon thunder shower. It has been ages since we have had one. Nice and cloudy, I love it.

Thats great news bfez, I see the storm that brought you the shower and it's just sitting right next to new orleans. You might even get more before the day is over. I wish we could get a storm in Lafayette, it is pretty cloudy right now with towering cumulus clouds that look promising.

It's nice and around normal here, maybe 1/2" above normal.

The Orlando area departure from normal precipitation doesn't look bad, but as many of us have been saying, here, we could use the rain.

Since January 1st Orlando is 0.45 below normal and since March 1st is 1.95 above normal. The Haines Drought Index was in the mid 500's last I knew.

We've had NO RAIN for May!! Actually, some local weather stations are reporting 0.02" and 0.03" :roll:

We have a 30% chance Tuesday and none after that in the forecast for the next 4 days.

I prayed for rain last night: "I wish it would rain - not so much for me, cuz I've seen it -but for my 5-year-old."

been real hot here though, even though we are above normal precip...Temps this week might be in the upper 90's! wow summer is heating up!

we just got out of one. We have only a 3/4 surplus for the year and we are behind for the month by a couple inches so i'ld like to see that surplus increase

Well, as expected, that 30% chance didn't do anything for me. Not a drop of rain and 0% chance every day on the 5-day forecast.

Does a thimble full count? That is about how much we had today in one passing shower today. So far I don't know what the official is for the city for this month, but it is .01" here. To top that we had 99º for a high here at the house with an official record breaker of 94º at the airport. Tomorrow and the next week are supposed to be back to normal-80's and 60's!!! HURRAY!!!! :multi:
