WOW! Looking at the information that Narlora posted and then looking at the SPC site, I cant imagine that another outbreak of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes is going to happen again. With 416 tornadoes already this month...could we see 500 by the end of the week? We are only on the 15th of May too! Totally amazing! I pray for the people of the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles that everyone makes it out of today alive. If you look at the whole year, its been quiet amazing in terms of the weather. We had the huge snows on President's Day in the Northeast, an early Tropical Storm in the Atlantic, and now 416 tornadoes before the mid-way point of May. Is there any connection between an active severe weather season and an active hurricane season in the Atlantic? Are we looking at a very active hurricane season this year? I guess only time will tell and hopefully, we won't see a record setting hurricane season this year. I hope everyone stays safe and take cover when advised to.

Definitely looks stormy Tom! Another threat that has been emphasized over the last several days is the terrible flooding across the South. Things are also getting soggy here in Monett. In the last two days we have received a total of 2.25" of rain with the NWS saying that up to 3 more inches could fall by Saturday evening! I.Hope.Not.

I was gonna mention that this morning, what the hell does it look like in Southern Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana right now as far as flooding, you hardly hear a word!! God knows all that rain has to be filling all those rivers!

Anyone know how the "1995 spring-summer severe weather season" was like?

I am not saying there is definately a correlation, Tom brought up the point for discussion, perhaps we can continue from this question. :)

I sincerly feel for the folks in the middle of the stormy area, that is a whole load of tornados!

EEEPP I was dreaming about a tornado outbreak in my neighbourhood! I really should stop watching storm movies before I go to sleep

Tom, I would also like to know if there is a connection with Hurricane season and severe season.
