Just an update. Nothing has happened since Tornado Watch 357 was posted for my area. The local NWS office out of Pittsburgh has put out a statement saying that thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and strengthen rapidly to become severe or even tornadic. Right now, its still mostly sunny, temp is up to 80 degrees and the winds are still gusty from the south-southwest. I'll keep you all updated as conditions change this afternoon.

Update on Tornado Watch

Now most of Pennsylvania central south central New York is under a tornado watch. The only reason for this is that we got a break in the clouds for about 2 hours and that led the thermel convection which leads to severe storms and possibaly tornados. Looking at the sattilite images from weatherbug, I saw a cloud break traveleing over New York and Pennsylvania, and predicted there probablly would be a Tornado watch or Severe Thunderstorm. I hope no tornados happen as I only like them when they happen out in the open plains away from most people. And right where I live is pretty mountianas so any tornado would be a F-0 or
F-1 max. I also live in a bowel between two high hills on top of the mountian so my house and my neighbors would be prettymuch safe from the tornado winds.

Hello Ohiostorm. Nice to see you here at Storm2K.
I see you posted a bit since you joined October 12 and recently started again a few days ago. I remember you from the TWC Board, perhaps you recognize me from there. I joined this board on October 9th [Day 2] and didn't start posted until February 5th, I really enjoy it here.
I don't believe Tornado Watch box #357 was cancelled... it expired at 5:00pm Eastern.

The tornado watch was cancelled around 4PM this evening. We had no severe thunderstorms, nor did we have any thunderstorms at all. The winds have been the main story however with lots of small branches coming down. They have been averaging about 15 to 20 miles per hour with gusts occasionally reaching 30 to 35 miles per hour. We lost power around 6 this evening for about 25 minutes.

*heading back to PA tuesday for a long anticipated vacation. granted, wx will be ok for travel but not the greatest all week with temps to ride out in the low to mid 60's... oh well, just have to wear sleeves!*

Saturday Morning around 3AM, my wife and I were awoken by the sound of thunder. It was to date our biggest storm. The thunder and lightning seemed to have came in waves. Luckily, we didnt lose power during that storm. The winds were not that bad and we received a decent amount of rain. I didnt observe any hail either from the storm. The storm did knock some trees down in the county south of us. Then sometime between 7 and 8, we had a second storm roll through...and that one wasnt as bad as the first. It lasted just a few minutes. Thankfully, there were no further storms as my wife's sister graduated from college Saturday morning and they had an outdoor graduation. Just a few sprinkles occured...but nothing else.
