Monday may scorch Valley record books

APPLETON: With temperatures soaring toward a potential record high on Monday, it may finally be safe to pack away the snowblower for the season.
Channel 5's Karen Van Elsen said that Monday, with a predicted high temperature of 78, might trigger a spring fever epidemic of sorts.
"It's going to be a nice one... to call in sick," Van Elsen quipped. "In fact, there's a good chance we'll set a record."
That record arrived when the mercury rose to 76 in 1938, she said.
The heat wave won't last, however. Tuesday will see a high of 68, with cloudy skies and a chance for showers. Expect another 10-degree drop on Wednesday, when showers and thunderstorms wash hopes for an early summer back to Earth. By Thursday, the predicted high won't be much of one...43, cloudy, chance of showers, dreams of warmth.
