Good evening. Many reports of shattered windows north of dallas and fort worth this evenig due to golfball to baseball size hail. There was a wall cloud sighted north of fort worth as well as numerous power flashes north of dallas and north of fort worth. More supercells continue north of the dallas fort worth metroplex and a new tornado watch is in effect until 3 AM for the dallas and fort worth areas.
A strong disturbance moving in from the west is colliding with gulf moisture along a warm front, which is firing off numerous supercell thunderstorms. Southeast winds at the surface and southwest winds aloft is causing the turning of winds at different directions, which is sufficent for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms including 80 mph winds and softball size hail, such as the case in throckmorton, TX earlier this evening.
By tomorrow, a dryline will surge east into a warm and very unstable airmass. Warm moist air ahead of the dryline and cooler drier air behind that will be the key ingredients for a major severe weather outbreak tomorrow for northern Louisiana and into Arkansas. Widespread very large hail, damaging winds, and strong to potentially violent tornadoes is likely in this region tomorrow. So just as you figure the severe weather in north texas is bad enough, it may get worse before it gets better unfortunately got north texas overnight tonight and the arklatex region on Sunday. Stay tuned for more updates on this dangerous situation.
