Fun trip!

For those on this board who don't know me well yet, I love to chase events...especially winter events.

I have been ill and slept most of the day yesterday. Could not sleep last nite so I decided to chase this event. I live about 25 miles from the Blue Ridge, ideal for such an event.

Rain all the way up, and as I approached the 2000ft mark, sleet mixed in. This was a tad before 4am. By 4am, it was all snow. Had 2 flashes of lightning, which one was around the time Roanoke was 38 with a thunderstorm.

I am back home now in Forest, just outside of Lynchburg. When I left, there was about 8 inches on the ground with 2 ft drifts. Took a 300ft drop in elevation to see a drop in accums. Tree damage is well underway .

Have pics to post...and 20 minutes of video.(Not gonna post that..LOL)

I'm jealous!....I didn't get a decent snowcover like that this winter.

Hey, gonna have to wait for the pics till tommorow. The lack of sleep killed me...I made it home and went to church, then went to a friends to eat. Slept through the 2 NCAA games and beat tired again.
