Impresssed with the cold air push...

My location is about 7 miles NW of the official LYH reporting station. I own a condo, so I cannot install an official weather station due to homeowner regs. Nonetheless, I do have my own thermometer outside, with the face guage inside for easy access reading here from my desk.
I came home around 11 tonight and it was a toasty 57. 1:30 now and it has fallen to a crisp 46. 5 of these degress have been since 1 am.
I am torn on what to do. This would have a HUGE event if this were JAN. h85 temps falling into the -8 range, despite 700mb temps in the -3 range...snow would fall fast and furious. Freezing line wants to set up around 2k, maybe a tad less. VVs are impressive and surface temps tend to run lower per model progs in winter precipt events..(Have all winter here)
I am tempted to run up to the Blue Ridge Parkway and experience one last blast of winter, but staying here COULD be a nice 2-3 inch surprise. (4k on the parkway sees 6+...bank on it)

42° here already and still dropping! Wow...we're like 20°-25° below normal too. I'll have to check and see what the normal is. It's certainly nowhere near the 30's which is what it's supposed to get down to.
And tomorrow night is supposed to be even colder!

3:00 AM Eastern Time Temperature here was 64°. I can't imagine it being 20 degrees cooler in the next morning or two... but will certainly be warming up as the week goes on and shouldn't be this cold until this autumn.

The temperature in Coastal South Carolina has dropped 15 degrees since 8 am this morning. To contrast, yesterday was the warmest day of the year so far (84º CHS, 86º here)...right now, it's 50º CHS, and 48º for a temperature difference of 34º and 38º, respectively ... a brutal slap in the face so to speak. (The high set this morning at midnight - 67º)
The light rain has now stopped.

I have to agree with you, Ken. Clouds are breaking up a little and should clear out by midnight. One thing to watch, however, is the wind speeds. If the winds do not totally die down, then frost won't be a problem.
However - compare temperatures from yesterday to today 24 hour temperature change.
Yesterday - this time/today (5:30 pm)
84º CHS / 86º Here Saturday
Today - this time (5:30 pm)
46º CHS / 45º Here Sunday
Temperature differences
38º CHS / 41º Here
Amazing for late March or anytime of year for that matter

Temperatures falling relatively slow last evening into early this morning. Went from the mid 50s to the mid 40s in about 6 hours... still quite a chill with this rush of very early spring winter-like temperatures.

Yes, NYState, what happened to spring is right?
CHS WFO just issued a FROST WARNING for late tonight and tomorrow morning, as temperatures are forecast to drop into the mid 30's, and possibly close to freezing further inland. CRAZY!
I've enjoyed the warmer temperatures after the winter we've had this year. Now I am ready for spring to stay (except for the Pollen)
