It's been a busy day in Florida and a sad one as well.

That is sad! Severe storms are so dangerous. My thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of the victim.

As much as I like to chase storms and tornadoes, I am always saddened by deaths from these storms.

Pray for the famalies affected.

Very sad... It was a rough storm in Central FL too.. We were without power for hours, and trees are down everywhere

Oh no that is awful news.

We had such heavy rain the whole day yesterday and into last night. Some close lightning and very gusty winds, we also lost power for quite awhile. My yard is basically underwater again. I just hope it dries out before our next event (maybe Sunday)

I love to chase! I know that it is dangerous, and I really do feel awful when people are victim to the storms, but at the same time, I want to chase and report whatever I can so that the awareness can grow, and the likeliness of death will go down! Know what I mean?

Most definitely Jacki..
I've been a severe storm and tornado fanatic since childhood, and always get a mega-adrenalin rush whenever there's a SPC High Risk outlook or PDS Tornado Watch for this area; but I've also been a Skywarn storm spotter since 1982.

I enjoy the adrenalin rush when severe weather is likely, but also want to do whatever I can to help others be prepared...and provide ground truth storm reports to save lives.

Likewise, Perry and Jacki.
I've been a severe storms spotter for the CHS WFO since 1992 and have done some local chases here in the area. The May 10th, 1998 "Mother's Day" tornado that struck Summerville, and Ladson was one that I chased only a few miles from my house. But never did I wanted to see this one going right through communities of people, many of them that I know personally.
